This site is not updated much anymore, here's why:

UEA is still around, mostly exploring in other countries or overseas and posting our expos on other places - personal blogs, etc. This site is mostly just an archive of all the stuff we have from 2002-2006 ish in the Calgary area.

I've created a facebook group to aid in the organizing and announcing of UE meetups.

The next meetup will be on *Thursday* May 21st, at 7pm.

Link to the facebook group ( copy and paste it, I dunno how this format makes hotlinks.

Back to the hop. by FyRePhReAk (Feb 19, 2009)
I will be heading to the Hop N brew on the first and third Tuesday of every month, Starting on March 3. Anyone that's interested in UE in Calgary is welcome to come down and Share a pint, some pizza, and discussion of photography, urban exploration, mining, Storm drains, etc.

I'll probably head there and 7pm, and stay for an hour or two, unless people show up. Come on down, share some stories, have some fun.

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone is still active in the city. I recently was talking to a friend of mine and she mentioned that you guys existed but knew absolutely nothing about you other than the whole meeting at the Hop n Brew. I've stopped in a few times in a futile attempt to find anyone but have constantly left disappointed. If anyone could get back to me that would be more than awesome as I am captivated by exploration and I want to see what this city holds.
My email is nickynine@hotmail.com
Thank you all so much.

mine map by don (Aug 21, 2008)
Ok, my sons and I found and signed the visitors log in the monarch mine at feild. The map was great, we left it there as did everyone before us. Where can we get a copy of it, we would like to go back.

I have emailed you some more information. Scott is the one to talk to about the mine map, and I'm sure he can send it to you if he still has a copy of the file. You must've just missed him at the mine, as he was just there on Wednesday this week!

UEA - 1st timer by Spiker (Aug 23, 2007)
WEll where to start. I enjoy caving, climbing and the outdoors. I drove past feild B.C. several times and thought I would be able to get into one of those mines. I drove past and past and never did anything. Me and a buddy (mini mouse... hahahah) went up last week or so to the monarch mine. We kepted to the tree's as much as possiable and then went up the center. We fould the first enterance and went it. We spent about 4 hours inside and pretty much saw everything. Very cool. We also came across a guest book and got this address from it. I was so excited becuase exploring a cave is a thrill and I really liked the exploring part of it.

On Wed. Aug 23rd me and my buddy went to the Hop in Brew House pub to talk to some of the memebers so we can get started with tubs and such. But no one was there :( so like any explorer we went to wallmart and got some tools to pop man hole lids. We went back to Canmore and found a couple of things we are going to go back for. It w...

Five Years of UEA by K.A.O.S. (Aug 13, 2007)

The UEA website underwent a large restructuring, and was only part finished - now I have no time to work on it. If anyone wants to step up to the plate as far as web design goes, please do so. The site sortof works as it is, but isn't pretty.
