What is the first place you ever explored? asked by Skaught
Disused incinerator.

In what year did you explore your first place? asked by Skaught
2003.

What are some places you found on your own? asked by Skaught
Dis-used hospital.
Shitty drain way out west. haha.

What skills do you have in relation to UE? (climbing, photography, etc.) asked by Skaught
I'm a good climber and can handle myself easily through most locations. In fact, just two weeks after a shoulder reconstruction I was back out climbing things. :P
I also have a knack for puns, and an extensive knowledge of most MacDonalds in Sydney.
I'm practising photography at the moment, and one day hope to be as good as Nivelo. Bah, what am I saying - I want to be better! :P

Why are you interested in UE? asked by Anymouse
To know what's around, above and below me, to experience history and to have a general better understanding of the world.

How often do you explore, or how involved are you in the UE community? asked by Anymouse
Roughly every two weeks I'll go out and purposefully do a location. During the summer it can be as frequent as 2-3 locations every second night. If I'm interstate it will be more.
Affiliated with the Cave Clan.

What types of places do you like to explore? asked by Anymouse
Drains. I really like drains, because I just fell much more comfortable when exploring them. Topside locations tend to put me on edge a bit.

Have you ever been caught by the police or security? asked by Skaught
Questioned, but never "caught" as such.

Where do you currently live, and where have you explored before? asked by Anymouse
Sydney. Most locations around here. Bunkers, drains, power stations, hospitals etc.

also explored Melbourne.

Is using lockpicks ok as a method of entering a site after all other options have been exhaused? asked by Skaught
For sure. I'd actually prefer using them becuase it makes entry less hassle and dodgy. Just don't get caught with them!

Do you think taking a small momento from an abandonment is ok? asked by Skaught
Yeah, however it does depend alot on the location.

Is it ok to use any sort of force when entering a site? asked by Skaught
Pushing against a door? yeah.
Bolt-cutting? Yeah, but only if necessary.

What's your stance on the use of drugs/alcohol in conjuction with UE? asked by K.A.O.S.
Beer is goodah for a relaxed trip through a few drains. But I like to know I'll be able to rely on people to think rationally and properly if the time calls.

What's your stance on tagging, graffitti and other modifications to sites. asked by K.A.O.S.
Keep it low-key, and to one designated area.

Hypothetical situation: security is on to you, either ahead or behind. Run or talk your way out of it? asked by Vapor
Depends who I'm with, how many are therewith me, what I'm carrying and what location I'm in.
I usually bust out, but I've talked my way out a few tight spots before.

What is the origin of your nick? asked by Skaught
parallax: An apparent change in the direction of an object, caused by a change in observational position that provides a new line of sight.

It's kind of metaphoric to me. If you look at me from one angle I could just be your average run of the mill bloke, another angle and I'm an urbexing guy who enjoys doing drains. So I suppose the word change is a good one.

How comfortable are you exploring with minors? asked by Feztaa
Sweet. Because, I am the minor! :P
As long as they're 'mature' I'm cool with it.

Do you have a UE kit, and if so, what's inside? asked by Vapor
Shoulder bag with torch, headlamp, camera, phone, UHF radio, packet of cigarettes, and sometimes a small med-kit and a couple of beers.

Do you take pictures? If so, what type of camera do you use? asked by Anymouse
I'm learning. Canon Digital Rebel 300D.

What do you think about exploring active sites? asked by GCOAP
If you can get in and out with minimal fuss then awesome. Like I said before though, dodgy sites put me on edge and I prefer to do them in small groups of people I know I can definately trust.

Do you run your own website? If so, what's the URL? asked by Feztaa
www.parallax.urbex.org

Props to Nivelo for the hosting!

What has the thing that has tempted your taking hands the most? asked by Night Shade
Do you mean:
What is the one thing that has tempted you to take the most? (as in steal?)

Well I'm a HUGE sign freak, I love signs.

How do you deal missions with explorers whose ethics differ from your own? asked by K.A.O.S.
Strike the middle ground, tell them it's unacceptable or just leave.

What was your favourite place to explore, and why was it so awesome? asked by Lucid
El Caballo Blanco, a disused amusement park. Just a good crew to go exploring with, and we just had so much fun!

You're exploring with other people when someone sustains a serious injury, gets trapped, caught, etc. In your current position you're safe but trying to assist your fellow explorer could put you in peril. What action (if any) do you take? asked by K.A.O.S.
Don't be an idiot - Call an ambulance. You might get busted, but it's better than putting yourself and your mate in further jeopardy by trying to "fix" a situation beyond your capabilities.

What are your UE goals? asked by K.A.O.S.
Doesn't everyone have the same? To do all the famous locations around the world, and meet all the famous urbexers. And to have fun of course. But it all takes $$$!

You find illegally dumped toxic waste while exploring, evidence of drug trafficking or other illegal/dangerous activity/conditions in the course of your explorations. What do you do about it, if anything? asked by K.A.O.S.
Anonymously report it.

How did you find your way here? asked by K.A.O.S.
the URL was printed on the bottom of my "GO IN DRAINS!" t-shirt. :P

What has UE given you in your life that you otherwise have not had? asked by Q
A better understanding of our history and the way things work.

+ something cool to impress chicks. If they are into this kind of stuff.

What, if anything, have you given back to Urban Exploration since you started exploring? asked by Q
That's a really hard question. How _do_ you give back to something that is an inherently selfish activity?
I suppose I give my friendship and support to those who I go exploring with.

What things frighten you the most in terms of UE? asked by K.A.O.S.
Getting in over my head. I like to understand thoroughly where I'm going, how we'll be getting access and what to expect in terms of security or natural variables (ie: water, wind, etc).
I always like to have a contingency plan and an alibi. I just hate being unprepared, but on the flipside, I absoloutely LOVE spontaneous expos. So I'm kind of bizarre. :P

If you encounter a dead body during a mission, what would you do? asked by Skag
Report it anonymously.
